How do I install a Counter on my page?
Please use the Control Panel's "Counter" button to create your counter or you can use a remotely hosted counter program such a Link Exchange or other.

How do I install a Guestbook for my site?
Method number 1:
You can install your own Guestbook if you have a Standard Account or better. It is available from Matt's Script Archive (place it in your cgi-bin directory which should be chmod'ed to 755 or made executable)

Method number 2:
You can use a remotely hosted Guestbook program available from:

How do I use the nms FormMail script for forms?
Please visit the example forms page at http://www.drw.net/formexample.html. For detailed instructions and or to download nms FormMail or other scripts visit http://nms-cgi.sourceforge.net/scripts.shtml. (You do not have to install the script because the script is already installed at http://<server>.drw.net/cgi-bin/formmail.cgi or if you have a Domain account you can use http://www.YourDomainName.com/cgi-sys/formmail.cgi ) If you do not know how to use forms, you can see http://www.drw.net/formexample.html or you can visit the many tutorials available on the Internet.

What is System CGI?
System CGI is a set of pre-installed CGI Scripts in our cgi-bin directory such as formmail.cgi, CGI.pm, imagemap etc. You can use the following set of URL's to use these scripts:

Example:
http://www.drw.net/cgi-bin/formmail.cgi

or if you have a Domain Name/Account :
http://www.yourname.com/cgi-sys/formmail.cgi

The following scripts are available at this time:
- formmail.cgi
 
This is a script which can be used for a Web Page Form similar to what we use for our on-line order forms. Scroll up to the third question for instructions.

- CGI.pm
This is a widely used perl module for writing CGI/Perl scripts. To use it you can simply use the line " use CGI; " in your script(s).

- imagemap
This is used for server side imagemaps.

- cgi-lib.pl
Another perl library used with perl scripts.

Can I use my own CGI scripts?
Yes you can use your own CGI scripts with a Standard Account or better. Place them in your cgi-bin directory and make them executable (755). If you do not have a cgi-bin directory, create one (only if you have a Standard account or better) and make this directory also executable (chmod 755). You can use an FTP program like Cute FTP (available from www.tucows.com) to change the file attributes or you can use the Site Manager from the DRW Account Control Panel.

What file extension do I need to use for my CGI Scripts?
You should use a .cgi extension but a .pl extension should also work.

What versions of PERL are available and where are they located?
Perl and Perl 5 (latest versions are usually installed and updated) are available. Perl is located at /usr/bin/perl and Perl 5.* is located at /usr/bin/perl5
