DRW Networks Inc. now allows a special feature called POP Before SMTP to allow our Customers to use our SMTP server to send mail. Previously we did not allow this due to security reasons and possible use of our server for sending SPAM (or Unsolicited Bulk E-Mail).
DISCLAIMER!!: This will not work with some Internet Service Providers that mask the real IP address of your computer(s). In this case, please use your Internet Service Provider's SMTP server to send mail or you can use the Web Mail feature on the DRW Control Panel to send mail (Send/Receive E-mail).
This is how it works:
User/Customer downloads their e-mail from their mailbox (from the respective server where the e-mail account resides). For example: If your account is on the mars.drw.net server and the POP account is pop2004@mars.drw.net, you can use mars.drw.net as your Incoming (POP3) mail server and as your Outgoing (SMTP) server in your e-mail software's settings (Outlook, Eudora etc.), BUT you are only allowed to send mail after you have downloaded your e-mail. The server creates a special file to allow your computer (IP Address) access to the SMTP port of the respective DRW server for upto one hour (60 minutes) after you have logged in (sucessfully downloaded or checked your e-mail).
REMEMBER: In order to be able to use the SMTP server, you must download your e-mail first (for that mailbox).
